Skin needling also known as microneedling or collagen induction therapy.

At Wren we use Dermapen 4. A pen like device that glides fine needles over the surface of the skin creating controlled micro channels that trigger the skin’s natural healing response. This process stimulates collagen and elastin production, improving skin structure, texture and integrity.

Skin needling may be recommended for:

• Acne scarring

• Skin rejuvenation

• Texture irregularities

• Large pores

• Pigmentation

• Melasma

Depending on your treatment plan and concerns you may be recommended 3-6 sessions, 4-6 weeks apart for optimum results.

If Skin Needling is the treatment for you, we will take photos and talk you through a detailed consent form. You will know exactly what is going to happen and what to expect afterwards.

Included in the treatment is exfoliation, enzymes, extractions, chemical peels, Heal lite LED, Dermapen 4 skin needling and a combination of serums and masks.

Dermapen 4 skin needling causes moderate discomfort. During you will experience a vibrating, scratching feeling, more prominent in bony areas.

Your skin will feel hot, tingly and tender straight after which may last 1-2 hours.

The next day you will receive a message from Laura to check in on your recovery and answer any questions you may have. Laura is here to support you and your skin every step of the way.

Your skin is now going through a healing process so go easy on your skin for 5 - 7 days.

Expect some redness, warmth, tenderness and mild swelling for the first 12 hours.

For 5- 7 days expect some redness, dullness, rough texture and mild shedding.

To Do:

• Avoid your serums or exfoliation for five days post treatment. You can use a gentle cleanser, moisturiser & SPF only.

• Always avoid direct sunlight for 48 hours after treatment.

• Wear sunscreen and reapply every 2 hours, if outdoors always wear a wide brim hat. This is non negotiable.

• Avoid excess heat & excessive sweating for 48 hours.

• Do not schedule any injectable treatments for 2 weeks pre and post treatment.

Results:

You may notice textural changes within the first few weeks.

Results build slowly as collagen production increases for 1-3 months after your treatment..
